“Excellence” – again!

The awards keep on coming!  After Michael Simms‘ success earlier in the year, when he won the Tatler Magazine Wine List of the Year award at Sartoria, Le Pont de la Tour and Butler’s Wharf Chophouse have become the latest to receive a gong.

Wine Spectator Magazine is one the most influential wine magazines State-side and its Restaurant Wine List awards are highly prized.  Le Pont de la Tour and Butler’s Wharf Chophouse have each just won a Best Award of Excellence, which was created to give special recognition to “restaurants that clearly exceed the requirements of the Award of Excellence. These lists typically offer 400 or more selections, have superior presentation and display vintage depth with several vertical offerings of top wines, or excellent breadth across several wine regions.”

So congratulations to Antoine Dugand, head sommelier at Le Pont de la Tour, his counterpart Ben Meutter at Butler’s Wharf Chophouse and both of their teams – all of whom enjoy a glass of bubbly!  We heartily recommend a visit to the Wharf soon, to check out two outstanding wine lists within only a few yards of each other.
