Ice, ice, baby

Moët Ice Impérial is the first and only champagne especially created to be enjoyed over ice and we are excited to give our guests the opportunity to try it this summer on three of our restaurants’ outdoor terraces at Coq d’Argent, Bluebird, South Place Hotel and Plateau.

It has been designed to create a new champagne experience, fun and fresh and totally different to the classical experience.  While at the same time, Moët & Chandon have clearly tried to remain true to their house style and the profiles of the wines used in the assemblage have been carefully selected: mainly pinot poir (40-50%) with some pinot meunier (30-40%) and chardonnay (10-20%).

This champagne has a dense, deep gold colour.  On the nose, it has intense tropical and stone fruit aromas and, to taste, it has fleshy, voluptuous flavours of fresh, fruit salad, caramel with crisp acidity.

Don’t expect to find Moët Ice Impérial served in the traditional champagne flute, but a large red wine glass with three ice cubes and a garnish of your choice – we have experimented with lots of different options and our favourites (so far) are mint leaves, cucumber peal, red fruits or orange peel.  This is a summer-only drink, so head over to Coq d’Argent, BluebirdSouth Place Hotel or Plateau soon to give it a try.
